Who these Terms are with

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and JIV Brands LLC, which operates Recipe 2 Scale (referred to here as "Recipe 2 Scale," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using Recipe 2 Scale, you agree to these Terms.

Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Recipe 2 Scale, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Recipe 2 Scale.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Recipe 2 Scale, and you confirm that the information you provide when creating an account is accurate.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activity that happens under your account. Please contact us at support@recipe2scale.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Your content

You own the recipes, ingredients, and other content you create in Recipe 2 Scale. By saving content in Recipe 2 Scale, you give us the permission we need to store, process, and display that content back to you as part of providing the service, for example running the scaling, costing, and production calculations you request. We do not use your recipe content for any purpose beyond providing the service to you.

You are responsible for the content you enter or import, including making sure you have the right to use and store it. If you import a recipe from a website you do not own, you are responsible for respecting that site's terms and any copyright in its content. Recipe 2 Scale's import tool simply reads the page you submit and returns its recipe details to you for review; it does not grant you any rights to that content.

Recipe scaling, conversions, and estimates

Recipe 2 Scale calculates scaled quantities, unit conversions, and gram weights based on the information you enter and general reference data built into the app. These calculations are estimates. Ingredients vary in density, moisture, and preparation, and conversions may not be exact for every ingredient or every cooking or baking context. Always use your own judgment, and verify a scaled recipe before relying on it for an important batch.

Costing, pricing, and production estimates

Ingredient costs, packaging, labor, and overhead figures in Recipe 2 Scale come from reference data and from information you enter yourself. We do not guarantee that any price shown is current, and ingredient and product prices can change at any time. Estimated revenue, profit, and profit margin are calculations based on the numbers you provide, not a guarantee of any business outcome. Production plans, batch weights, and tolerances are similarly estimates to help you plan, not a substitute for checking your own work.

Food safety, allergens, and professional advice

You are responsible for safe food handling and preparation, for identifying and managing allergens in anything you make, and for the accuracy of any nutritional or dietary information you rely on. Recipe 2 Scale is a planning and calculation tool, and it is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, food-safety, legal, accounting, or regulatory advice. If you are uncertain about a food-safety or health question, consult a qualified professional.

Using Recipe 2 Scale for a food business

If you use Recipe 2 Scale to help run a food business, including a cottage-food or home-based business, you remain responsible for complying with all applicable cottage-food, food-safety, labeling, licensing, tax, and other regulations that apply to you. Recipe 2 Scale's costing and production tools are provided to help you plan; they do not confirm that your business complies with any law or regulation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Recipe 2 Scale for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use the recipe-import tool to submit URLs you do not have the right to fetch or use
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person

Recipe 2 Scale's intellectual property

Recipe 2 Scale's name, logo, and the software, design, and reference data behind the app belong to JIV Brands LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the Recipe 2 Scale name or branding except as needed to use the app as intended.

Subscriptions

Recipe 2 Scale currently offers a Free plan and a Pro tier. Pro access today is granted through a promotional code or an internal testing setting rather than a live payment system, and no payment is currently collected or processed through the app. If we launch paid subscriptions with a live payment provider, we will update these Terms to describe billing, renewal, and cancellation before that feature becomes available to you.

Third-party services and external links

Recipe 2 Scale relies on third-party service providers, including Supabase for our database and authentication and Vercel for hosting, to operate. Recipe 2 Scale may also link to or reference third-party websites, such as a recipe's original source page. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites or services.

Service availability and changes

We may modify, update, or discontinue features of Recipe 2 Scale at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available without interruption.

Ending your account

You may stop using Recipe 2 Scale at any time and may permanently delete your account from Settings in the app, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

Recipe 2 Scale is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation will be accurate for your specific ingredients or circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JIV Brands LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profit, arising out of or related to your use of Recipe 2 Scale, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above when we do, and continuing to use Recipe 2 Scale after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
