Who operates Recipe 2 Scale

Recipe 2 Scale is operated by JIV Brands LLC. In this policy, "Recipe 2 Scale," "we," "us," and "our" refer to JIV Brands LLC's operation of the Recipe 2 Scale service.

Information you provide to us

Account information. Creating a Recipe 2 Scale account requires only an email address and a password. We do not currently ask for your name or any other profile details.

Marketing communications (optional). When you create an account, you can check a box to opt in to Recipe 2 Scale marketing and onboarding communications, such as a quick-start guide, tutorials and tips, new feature announcements, product updates, special offers, and other JIV Brands LLC product news. This box is unchecked by default and is never required to create or use a Recipe 2 Scale account. If you opt in, we record that choice and the date it was made, tied to your account; if you do not opt in, no such record is created. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing us at support@recipe2scale.com, and once we begin sending these communications, each one will include its own unsubscribe option.

Recipes and related content. Recipe 2 Scale is built around the content you create in it. Depending on how you use the app, this can include:

• Recipes you save, including names, yields, and ingredient lists
• Ingredients you add yourself, and any cost you enter for them
• Scaled versions of your recipes, and the ingredient quantities that come with them
• Costing information you enter, such as selling price, packaging, labor, and overhead
• Production plans and notes you create from a recipe
• Free-form notes you add to a recipe
• Photos you optionally upload for a recipe

Recipe photos. Uploading a photo to a recipe is optional, and a recipe works the same with or without one. If you upload a photo, it is stored using Supabase Storage in a location tied to your account that only you can access, and it is deleted when you remove or replace it, when you delete the recipe it is attached to, or when you delete your account.

This content is stored so the app can show it back to you the next time you sign in. It is not used for anything beyond providing the Recipe 2 Scale service to you.

Importing a recipe from a website

When you paste a URL into the "Import from URL" tool, Recipe 2 Scale fetches that one web page from our server in order to read its recipe content, then returns the recipe name, yield, and ingredients to your browser so you can review and edit them before saving. We do not send this request to any third-party recipe or AI service, and we do not save the source page's URL or its raw content. If you go on to save the imported recipe, only the recipe details you keep after editing (name, yield, ingredients) are stored, the same as any recipe you enter by hand.

Information collected automatically

Sign-in sessions. When you log in, Recipe 2 Scale uses standard authentication cookies (through our authentication provider, Supabase) to keep you signed in as you move between pages. These cookies identify your logged-in session; they are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Browser storage. Some features save small pieces of data directly in your browser's local storage, such as gram-weight adjustments you've made, purchase-price notes, and remembered production checklist items. This information stays on your device and is not automatically transmitted to our servers.

Analytics and advertising. Recipe 2 Scale does not currently use any analytics, advertising, or behavioral-tracking service. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or similar tools, and we do not build advertising profiles from your activity.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Create and secure your account, and let you sign in
• Store and display your recipes, ingredients, and related data back to you
• Perform the scaling, costing, and production calculations you request
• Respond to support requests you send us
• Maintain the security and reliability of the service
• Send you optional marketing and onboarding communications, only if you opted in

Service providers

We use a small number of third-party service providers to run Recipe 2 Scale. They process information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy practices, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us:

• Supabase, which provides our database, file storage, and authentication. Your account credentials and all of the recipe, ingredient, scaling, costing, and production data described above, including any recipe photos you upload and whether you opted in to marketing communications, are stored in Supabase.
• Vercel, which hosts the application and serves it to your browser over HTTPS.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

Payments

Recipe 2 Scale does not currently process real payments. Pro-tier access is granted through a promotional code or an internal testing setting, and no payment card or billing information is collected or transmitted by the app today. If we introduce paid subscriptions processed through a payment provider in the future, we will update this policy to name that provider and describe what it collects before that change takes effect.

Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active, so the app can continue to work for you. If you delete your account, we delete your account and content as described below.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Recipe 2 Scale account yourself from Settings in the app. Deleting your account removes your login, your recipes, your custom ingredients, your saved scales, your costing and production data, any photos you uploaded to your recipes, and your marketing-communications preference, along with the browser-stored items described above. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. If you are unable to use the in-app option, you can request deletion by emailing support@recipe2scale.com.

Security

Recipe 2 Scale uses several measures to help protect your information: Supabase authentication for sign-in, database-level row security so your data is only reachable by your own account, server-side checks on the app's protected pages, and HTTPS encryption in transit through Vercel. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Recipe 2 Scale is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@recipe2scale.com so we can remove it.

International users

Recipe 2 Scale is operated from the United States, and the service providers described above process information in the United States. If you use Recipe 2 Scale from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Links to other websites

Recipe 2 Scale's recipe-import feature and any recipes you save may reference third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate, and we encourage you to review their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Recipe 2 Scale changes. We will update the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
